Drift — Spatial Sleep Sounds

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I save a mix?

Arrange your orbs on the canvas, then tap the save icon (💾) in the top-right corner. Give your mix a name and it will be stored in Mix Memory. Saved mixes stay on your device only (local storage).

Does Drift work offline?

Yes. All 12 ambient sounds are bundled with the app during installation. No streaming. No internet required. Your phone can be in airplane mode.

What's the difference between Free and Lifetime?

Free Forever: 5 sounds (Rain, Wind, Fire, Waves, Thunder), spatial mixing, 15min & 30min sessions.

Lifetime ($4.99): All 7 premium sounds (Night, Fan, Apartment, Restaurant, Train, Voice 1, Voice 2), extended durations (60min, 90min, 2hr, ∞), heartbeat visual modes, double-tap mute, recent mixes, audio previews. Plus every new sound orb we ever release — free.

What are Heartbeat Visual Modes?

Heartbeat visual modes (Minimal, Immersive, Leaves) are part of Lifetime Access. They display calming visual rhythms that pulse with your mix. The heartbeat gradually slows during your session, mimicking falling asleep.

Can I sync my mixes across devices?

No. Drift is designed to be 100% local-only. Your saved mixes stay on your device and never leave it. This ensures complete privacy and offline functionality. Use iCloud Backup to protect your device data.

Does Drift track my usage?

Drift v1.5 includes optional anonymous analytics, disabled by default. On first launch, you are asked to opt in or out. If you say no, nothing is ever collected. If you say yes, we see aggregate counts (app opens, sounds played) — never your identity. You can change your mind any time in Settings.

Read our full privacy policy.

Why is my battery draining?

Drift uses audio playback which consumes battery. To extend battery life: (1) Use OLED black mode, (2) Lower screen brightness, (3) Close other apps, (4) Use wired headphones instead of Bluetooth. Consider charging your device overnight while using Drift.

Can I use Drift with AirPods or AirPlay?

Yes. Drift works with any Bluetooth headphones, wired headphones, AirPlay speakers, AirPlay TVs, or your device's built-in speakers. In v1.5, you can switch audio output directly from the mixing canvas — tap the audio route button to choose between iPhone, Bluetooth, and AirPlay devices.

How do I delete a saved mix?

Tap Mix Memory (💾), swipe left on any saved mix, and tap Delete. This action cannot be undone.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not Ekoche Studios. Contact App Store support within 90 days of purchase. Open the App Store → tap your profile → Purchase History → find Drift → Report a Problem.

What iOS version do I need?

Drift requires iOS 17.0 or later. Check your iOS version: Settings → General → About → Software Version.

Can I use Drift on iPad?

Yes. Drift is a Universal app and works on both iPhone and iPad. The canvas scales to fill your screen.

What does "Founding Member" mean?

Founding Members are early supporters who purchased Lifetime Access before v1.5. They are recognized with a gold badge in Settings and receive every new sound orb we ever release — free, forever. As Drift grows, your collection grows with it. No subscriptions. No surprise charges. See our roadmap to learn what's coming.

The app crashed. What should I do?

Force quit Drift (swipe up from home indicator), restart your device, and try again. If crashes persist, email info@ekoche.com with your iOS version and device model.
